To bridge the gap between the recovery community and the at-large community through project and program development; education; advocacy and networking. The Recover Out Loud Movement seeks to be a change agent and a voice for the recovery community.
GOALS:
Education – dispel myths about what recovery is; share our stories at schools, churches, and with the community to affect change. Host forums and workshops on recovery
Program Development – work with established recovery support organizations such as the Georgia Council for Substance Abuse to organize Recover Out Loud into a fully functioning Recovery Community Organization
Advocacy/Network – lead efforts to develop a strong group of advocates/supporters for Recovery Support and funding for identified projects.
Long-Term Project Development – Promote efforts to build a Recovery Support Center on the west side of Atlanta.
