Recover Out Loud Movement
The Recover Out Loud Movement is comprised of individuals from 12-step recovery, faith based and community-based organizations whose goal is to bridge the gap between the 12-step recovery community and the at-large community. This effort is lead by Another Chance of Atlanta’s Executive Director Rozell Green, who is a person in long term recovery for 26 years.
MISSION
Our goal is to bridge the gap between the recovery community and the at-large community through project and program development; education; advocacy and networking. We seek to be a change agent and a voice for the recovery community.
GOALS
Education – dispel myths about what recovery is; share our stories at schools, churches, and with the community to affect change. Host forums and workshops on recovery
Program Development – work with established recovery support organizations such as the Georgia Council for Substance Abuse to organize Recover Out Loud into a fully functioning Recovery Community Organization
Advocacy/Network – lead efforts to develop a strong group of advocates/supporters for Recovery Support and funding for identified projects.
Long-Term Project Development – Promote efforts to build a Recovery Support Center on the west side of Atlanta.
